Measuring instruments used in trade fall under a separate regime under the Law on Measures and Calibration. Weighing instruments, water and electricity meters, fuel dispensers, taximeters and similar devices must undergo initial inspection and stamping before they can be placed on the market after import. For these products, CE marking and TAREKS inspection alone are not sufficient; the metrology legislation applies in addition.
